Yes, I am now forever spoiled. Upon arriving at the Realis San Maurizio we were shown though the property and to our beautiful rooms.
Originally a monastery founded in 1619, the relais is a spa resort located on the top of the hill looking over the vineyards surrounding Santo Stefano Belbo.
Lunch and beakfast is served in the Bistro Truffle Gourmet, surrounded by frescos from the 18th century.
In the basement, the magestic vaulted ceilings built for the winery now houses the restaurant Guido da Costigole, one of the finest restaurants in the Piedmont region.
The San Maurizio Brut Rose was fabulous with appetizers, as was the company, Roland and Magda from Wylls, and my Italian friends Stefania and Frederica from TFL Tours.
The staff here is is kind, professional and truly generous with their attention. What a fabulous and romantic destination for any time of the year.
Salute!
Great pictures of a beautiful place. So glad you are discovering some new wonderful places for us to visit!
Wow, so add this one to our list of destinations for our northern Italy trip! Glad to see you’re enjoying yourself and washing the jet-lag off and out of you with some spa treatments and Brut Rose. We’re thinking 2014 may have to include a month-long trip through France and Northern Italy — better get to work on our ‘bible’ now!
Shel, you lucky dog. Have fun.
