My passion for travel began when I was a young girl taken on a trip with my parents to the magnificent Atlantis resort in Nassau, Bahamas. There, I would play with Dolphins, enjoy bahamian fresh cuisine while dining amongst their breathtaking marine exhibits, and slide down their famous thrilling water slides that ended in enclosed shark aquariums. Needless to say, after this adventure, travel would become an important part of my life.

I have traveled much throughout the United States, Canada, Hawaii and Italy; of them beautiful places that I am so glad to have experienced. However, I still consider my adventures in the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico to be my favorite. Memories of these adventures include: riding catamarans along the coast of Jamaica where I jumped straight off of the boat and snorkeled into cliff caves; Having my morning ritual be a howler monkey alarm and a local cup of coffee in Costa Rica; and soaking up sun and time with friends at elaborate pool bars with a gulf of Mexico back drop at the many luxury resorts Mexico has to offer.

As a parent, a very important part of my personal travels is that I appreciate both vacations built around spending time with family in conjunction with trips planned for time without being a parent. I have driven the “Icefields Parkway” in the Canadian Rockies with a 16 Month old in the back seat. I have also gone away to a Mexican All inclusive adults only resort with my husband while “the baby” was back in The States with the grandparents. Each vacation serves a purpose beyond where you are going. It’s my passion to get beyond “where?” and get into “with whom?” and “why?”. Affording these questions consideration is where truly great trips come to life.

“Should I take my kids here?”, “Is this resort good for a romantic getaway?” or “is the extra travel time worth it?” are all questions I have answered with my personal experience. So the next time you plan an adventure, ask me about my experience at multiple resorts in Playa Mujeres, or about what I loved and didn’t at my time at two different Couples Resorts in Jamaica. My many experiences are your resource!

To Your Adventures, Kaley McClain
